United Schools Productions (US Productions) presents
the inaugural Weekend Animation Marathon (WAM)
on October 14th and 15th.

On Saturday, October 14th, from 9am to 5pm, students from
Pleasant Grove High School, Monterey Trail High School,
and Sheldon High School produced 10 short films
in 7 hours based on the theme Teamwork, announced at
the beginning of the marathon.

To kick off the event, Stephen Anderson,
director of “Meet The Robinsons” and “Winnie The Pooh”,
delivered a keynote presentation from 9am to 10am
in the Performing Arts Center.

On Sunday, October 15th, from 9am to 12pm, all 10 films
were showcased in the Performance Arts Center.
Three of the films were awarded for excellence in
Animation, Story, and Design by the students themselves.

WAM is an excellent opportunity for students to collaborate with peers from different sites in the district, and have a great learning experience
through Arts, Media, and Entertainment
Underclassmen and newcomers get a crash course in
the filmmaking process to jump start their education.
The event also gives students the chance to meet and learn
from industry professionals.

US Productions encourages all members of the community
to check back in with WAM next October and join us for our next Keynote speaker and student film viewing.
